The old valve is mainly responsible for the mutual adjustment of water intake between the two raw water pipelines in Dongzhou Water plant, which is an important guarantee for the safety of production in Dongzhou Water plant. However, this valve has been in continuous operation for more than 20 years. After serious aging, it will open and close out of order and cannot operate normally. It cannot deal with water supply emergencies that may occur in the future.

In April 2019, Zhengzhou Water Supply Company decided to transform the raw water pipeline of Dongzhou Water Plant. According to the project arrangement, planned water shutdown should be carried out when the new and old pipe lines are connected. Responsible for the area of the three strong company Shang Ding project Department clever grasp the opportunity, immediately approved the superior, put forward the replacement of the 1200mm diameter of the valve, in order to maximize the reduction of the impact of water to users. After being approved, the project department of Shang Ding immediately organized technicians to visit the construction site, accurately measure the distance of the valve, and coordinate the line of mechanical approach. And repeatedly organized relevant personnel to fully demonstrate the program, to ensure that it is foolproof. At the same time, electric welders were arranged in advance to remove and replace the old bolts, and special tools such as oversized wrenches, large lifting belts and 502 glue were also purchased, which made the preparatory work precise and detailed.

At 9 a.m. on April 12, the tense and orderly replacement of the valve was officially started. The 12 staff members cooperated with each other and worked together. Five team members quickly went down the well to remove the large bolts on the old valve, three team members connected and installed the new valve with the new flange and prepared to paste the sealing pad, and two team members were responsible for safety protection. At 10:30, the old valve was removed and removed from the valve well, followed by the installation and connection of the new valve that had been assembled. At 2 PM, the replacement of the 1200mm diameter valve was successfully completed!
